Dental Implants

Dental Implants are a reliable and long-lasting permanent solution to tooth loss. A dental implant is a (titanium) fixture, typically shaped like a screw, surgically inserted into the jaw bone for the purpose of replacing missing or severely damaged teeth. They come in a variety of sizes, shapes and configurations for their many diverse applications.

Root Canal

Inside the tooth is a hollow centre containing ‘pulp’.  Pulp is a sensitive tissue made up of blood vessels and nerves that provides oxygen, nutrients and feeling to the tooth.

Root canal treatment is a dental procedure that replaces damaged or infected pulp in the tooth’s root canal with a filling.

Dental Smile Makeover

Sometimes it can be hard to know exactly which treatment or treatments you need to achieve that stunning smile. Our smile makeovers are all about helping you do just that.

A smile makeover is a procedure that will improve every aspect of your smile, with one or multiple treatments depending on your situation and your vision for your smile.

Teeth Whitening

A thorough dental examination is the best way to determine whether you’re an appropriate candidate for whitening, or if there’s a reason for your teeth discolouration that may need to be addressed first. Parkside dental specialises in Philips Zoom teeth whitening.

Crowns

Crowns are fixed prosthetic devices, cemented onto existing teeth or implants.

Crowns entirely cover, or “cap”, a damaged tooth, both strengthening the tooth and enhancing its overall appearance, shape or alignment. Crowns can also be placed on top of implants, to provide a tooth-like shape and structure and give the implant the function of a regular tooth.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Many people only have room in their mouth to accommodate 28 teeth, rather than the 32 they would have with wisdom teeth.

If there isn’t enough space for wisdom teeth to properly come through, it might come through crooked, pushing against adjacent teeth and causing pain in the mouth. To avoid this and many other complications it could cause further down the line, the wisdom teeth are extracted.

Peridontal Services

The word ‘periodontal’ means ‘around the tooth’. Periodontal disease attacks the supporting gums and bone around the teeth. Plaque is a sticky film of food particles, bacteria and saliva that, when not removed, turns into calculus (tartar). If plaque and calculus are not quickly dealt with, they will start to destroy the gums and bone. Periodontal disease is characterized by inflamed and bleeding gums.

Veneers

Veneers give you a perfect, natural smile by restoring or covering over imperfect teeth.

We offer two kinds of veneers:
- Porcelain veneers
- Composite veneers.

Dental Hygiene

Good oral hygiene is essential in preventing an array of dental problems including tooth decay, gum disease and dental erosion.

Brushing your teeth both morning and night is helpful, but won’t have a profound effect on its own. Here are a few more things you can do to keep your teeth healthy and handsome.

Dentures

At Parkside Dental we offer two types of dentures:

- Partial dentures replace one or more lost teeth on the upper or lower jaw.
- Full dentures replace the entire row of top or bottom teeth, or both.
